The Addison Arbor Foundation
The Addison Arbor Foundation is a non-profit organization created for the purpose of raising funds for public landscape beautification projects. The Foundation is committed to provide and coordinate technical & educational resources to the Town of Addison for the purpose of establishing and maintaining healthy, sustainable urban forests.
The Addison Arbor Foundation continues to emphasize the long-term value that trees and landscape provide for the well-being of our community. The Foundation endeavors to pursue the “urban forest” concept of increasing the number of trees planted in our community through coordinated urban beautification projects.
Over the years, both private and public funds have been raised by the Foundation for the purpose of supplementing community landscape projects throughout the Town. AAF recognizes and acknowledges significant contributors through their “Giving Tree” located in the Addison Conference & Theatre Centre, 15650 Addison Rd., adjacent to Addison Circle Park. >> Go to The Addison Arbor Foundation web site
The Addison Arbor Foundation has two main goals:
- To increase the number of trees within the Town of Addison, and create a tree canopy that will become the Town’s trademark in the DFW Metroplex.
- To plant 50 trees each year for the next 20 years, along street medians, parks and greenbelts.
The Addison Arbor Foundation, with the help of the Town of Addison, is committed to a long-term plan to beautify our urban environment. The Board continues to work in conjunction with the Town’s experts and along side community business leaders, to insure proper planning, funding and implementation of the projects throughout our community. A prominent landmark, and the pride of Addison, is the grand old oak, dedicated to the Town as the “Liberty Tree” by the local VFW Post 3530.
