Addison is going GREEN! In addition to our hybrid electrical vehicles, we are looking at numerous ways to reduce our ecological footprint.  We have begun using bio-diesel fuel in our non-public safety diesel engines.  All new buildings and upgrades will meet sustainable standards where applicable.  And, we were one of the first to adopt the Clean Air Policy of the North Central Texas Council of Governments.

In addition, the Town of Addison has signed The U.S. Mayors Climate Protection Agreement, and is a member of the Sierra Club’s Cool Cities, made up of cities that have made a commitment to curb global warming by implementing smart energy solutions to save money and build a cleaner, safer future.

Use a layer of organic mulch around plants to reduce evaporation and save hundreds of gallons of water a year. When you need to add or replace a flower or shrub, choose a low water use plant and save up to 550 gallons of water a year.
