Throughout 2009, the Addison Arbor Foundation will sponsor quarterly seasonal events. These free events will host a presentation by professional horticulture experts from the D-FW Metroplex.

    The next scheduled event is:

Topic: Organic Herb Gardening in the Fall
    Presenter: Marian Buchanan, DCMG
    Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
    Addison Athletic Club, multi-purpose room

This seminar will cover topics such as:

    • Soil, planting, and maintenance.
    • Herb gardening in pots.
    • Herb gardening in your landscape.
    • And much more…

Herb gardening is a cost effective alternative to buying fresh or dried herbs at the grocery store. And herbs provide wonderful flavor and a fragrant addition to your favorite recipes. Our guest speaker for this event is Ms. Marian Buchanan, lecturer with the Dallas County Master Gardeners Speaker Bureau. Ms. Buchanan is a frequent lecturer on Waterwise Herb Gardening and a member of the Herb Society of America. She will update us on the best tips and techniques for establishing and caring for perenial herb gardens, both indoors and out, as well as which annuals do best in our growing zone.

Don’t put away your trowel! Join us on Saturday morning, September 12th and in just a few hours Ms. Buchanan will show you how easy it is to begin and maintain your own organic herb garden. Ms. Buchanan will be available to answer your questions following her presentation.

This seminar is offered free of charge by the Addison Arbor Foundation. Space is limited so, for reservations, please call: (972) 490-8517

In addition to the above event, the Arbor Foundation board has planned quarterly events throughout this year, to provide timely horticulture tips corresponding with each of the four seasons.

Additional event dates and topics for 2009 are:
